MidexPRO and AFC Wimbledon Foundation are working together for the next two years to help to increase the local employment opportunities, prevent social exclusion, and improve mental & physical health in the boroughs of Merton, Wandsworth, and Kingston.
The Foundation is linked to the football club and uses its facilities and outreach programs to encourage the local community to engage with those living in the most disadvantaged parts of that community.
They have three Pillars of which MidexPRO will be supporting two of them. The Active Youth Pillar and Active Ageing Pillar.
Active Youthย sessions will be planned all year round and held at Plough Lane make it free to help improve young peopleโs physical health, encourage disadvantaged children to be included in activity including throughout the summer holidays where children can enjoy activities and enjoy a hot meal. We couldnโt be more thrilled to be working with a great well throughout plan to including the community within the Football clubโs strategy.
The final pilar is to encourage sports participation for women and girls. This is supported already by Wimbledon Tennis Foundation and will itself offer more opportunities to young girls and women to play sport.
We look forward to bringing you more information and examples of impact in the community as our partnership continues.ย ย
